Malaysia Drama has been active in campus for the past years (since year 1990). It was initiated by a group of graduate drama majored students from the Malaysia Institute of Art by leading the extracurricular drama activities and further derivative and establish the “Theatre Education Committee” which is later renamed as TEA Theatre in year 2001. They had cultivated and nurture many drama newcomers from this process and also strengthen the current talents in theatre. Among them also contain those who graduated from the secondary school and further proceed to pursue their advance studies on related field in China or Taiwan respectively.

At present, drama organizations consist in several of the private and government secondary school (independent organization or regimental of the Chinese Society). In the yearly drama competition held by ASLI, most of the drama student candidates have shock everyone in regards to the students’ ability of creative work.

As a matter of fact, there is no lack of students with artistic talent within the campus. The overall conditions of learning drama within the campus are not utterly ideal. However, base on their sincere and persistent perseverance, they are able to overcome difficulties and successfully commence the drama curriculum. In order to learn more in depth on drama knowledge, they even engage an advisor to teach in school.

Therefore, the Malaysian drama personnel has realize that in current state, these group of secondary school students are filled with enthusiasm and possess a passionate heart in drama. However, if current issues are not solved in time, the circumstances might turn bad in days to come. When that day arrive, it will be too late to procure the current situation. This has caused ASLI Theatrical Union to initiate the “Secondary School Drama Society Adoption Campaign”. The objective of this campaign is to assist these secondary school drama societies to seek their “angels” and achieve on cultivating these artistic talents in drama.
